My GSD is 8 years old and she has developed a dry, hard nose. It is never wet and it has become bulbous and swollen, like a human alcoholic's. I put drops of olive oil on it to give it some moisture, but is there some vitamin I can put in her food? I feed her 1 1/2 cups of Kirkland lamb & rice kibble, moistened with some chicken broth, cooked chicken pieces and sometimes cooked carrots, peas, rice, and cottage cheese. She is not overweight, but she does shed excessively. Is this a sign of poor health?
